Hello! My name is B.J. Ward. I am the Broker/Owner of COMFORT Real Estate Services, Inc.
I have lived in the gorgeous coastal region of Ventura County my entire life and have yet to come to grips with how fortunate we are to be able to live in this community and experience the quality of life that we are able to experience on a daily basis. This truly is Paradise!
A little about myself... I was born and raised in this area. I attended Santa Clara High School (Oxnard) then the University of California, Santa Barbara obtaining degrees in both Sociology and Black Studies. While at UCSB, I also played four years of collegiate basketball for the Gauchos men's basketball team. I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I graduated. I have always had a passion for homes. It has always intrigued me how individuals can be creative with their dwelling and express their true selves in their home. I also like the fact that being involved in real estate and purchasing property can be such a lucrative form of investing. Many of today's multi-millionaires owe a large part of their fortune to the successes they've had in the real estate world. In addition, real estate is an industry that is ever changing. Although some see that aspect of the industry as one of the largest challenges, I see it as one of real estate's most appealing components.
Upon graduation I interned at RE/MAX Montecito before accepting a position at Pacific Rim; a highly successful real estate firm specializing in high end beach properties. It was there that I learned the essentials of the business.
After obtaining my broker license in 2004, I decided in January of 2005 to open and operate my own company, COMFORT Real Estate Services. In 2005 we closed nearly $10 million in real estate sales and have been going strong ever since.
I was recently asked what it was that I enjoyed most about working as a real estate consultant. Well, obviously, it gives me an opporunity to provide for my family and I take pride in that. On the same level it has allowed me to meet some of the most interesting people I ever could have imagined. I learn from my clients, grow close with their families and many of my those I initially meet on a professional basis actually end up being great friends. I love this part of the business and look forward to these new encounters every day.
I was recently selected as one of REALTOR® Magazine's "30 under 30" for 2009. This is a tremendous honor as it attest to the success of individual agents in their specific markets. The magazine chooses just 30 agents, owners or managers under the age of 30 across the nation to feature for their achievements in the real estate field. Not only was I chosen as one of the 30, but I was selected to be one of the 5 agents for the cover (to see footage of the photoshoot please click here - http://www.realtor.org/archives/30under30main). This honor is a complete testiment to the loyalty of my clients and the quality of agents that make up the Comfort team.
As the years go on Comfort Real Estate Services, Inc. will continue to grow. We will also continue to strengthen our foothold in the local market. However, the core values on which we base our business will never be compromised.
